amanda flores
artist bio
amanda flores (b. 1988) is an american mixed media artist who examines the layers of her personal, social, and political context through art. mrs. flores is inspired by modern art movements of the 20th and 21st centuries, especially paul klee, josef albers, and the bauhaus movement. she employs elements of classical design as well as intuitive practice into her pieces, which have been described as beautiful, naïve, and whimsical.
amanda uses painted paper mounted on various wood substrates. she employs a multitude of secondhand and salvaged materials in her work. amanda also dabbles in found object assemblage and oil pastel portraiture. mrs. flores lives in central florida with her family, including her husband artist juan flores, and their cat kiwi.
